Missing LA County Teen Found Dead In Roseville; Police Seek Witnesses
ROSEVILLE (CBS13) - Police are seeking out any possible witnesses with information regarding the disappearance and death of a Southern California teen found in Roseville.
On May 15, a fisherman found human remains in Dry Creek near Atkinson Street.
In late June, the remains were identified as 19-year-old John Alpert of Palmdale, a missing person from Los Angeles County.
Detectives say it appeared that he had already been dead for a few months. Alpert had never been in trouble with the law. He lived at home, helping his parents while attending community college.
Alpert reportedly left Palmdale in March for an adventure, illegally traveling on freight trains with another group of riders.
Investigators say his family didn't hear from him soon after, and reported him missing on March 25.
Detectives believe Alpert arrived in Roseville by freight train between March 16 and 17, where he was killed.
Alpert had unexplained injuries consistent with blunt force trauma. His death is being investigated as a homicide.
