Meteor Shower Watcher Plunges Off LA Mountain Road
GLENDORA (AP) — A man who was looking for a place to watch the Geminid meteor shower may have seen a few stars after his car plunged 100 feet down a hill in the Angeles National Forest.
The California Highway Patrol says the driver was looking for a spot to watch the meteor display in the mountains above Glendora at around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday when his Mustang plunged off the road.
He called for help and was spotted by a Los Angeles County Fire Department rescue helicopter. Authorities say he was able to walk away from the crash with only minor injuries.
