Men Break Into North Highlands Apartment, Open Fire
NORTH HIGHLANDS (CBS13) – Authorities say two people were hurt after a scary break-in and shooting at a Sacramento County apartment complex.
The incident happened early Thursday morning. Deputies say they were called to the 5600 block of Hamilton Street to investigate a shooting and discovered that one woman and been shot on the wrist, while another woman suffered a laceration to the forehead.
Apparently, the deputies learned, three men had broken into the apartment through a sliding door. The two women were sleeping inside at the time.
It is unclear what led up to the shooting.
Deputies say the three men got away before they got to the scene.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department is continuing to investigate the incident.
