Manteca Man Convicted Of Molesting Neighbor's Children Sentenced To Prison
MANTECA (CBS13) – A man convicted of molesting his neighbor's children has been sentenced to almost a decade in state prison.
Manteca resident Russell Wayne Otto was arrested back in 2014 on allegations he had molested his neighbor's 11 and 13 year old children. Investigators say the molestations began about five years ago after Otto had befriended the family.
Prosecutors say the 58-year-old Otto coerced the children to engage with him by threatening them with violence.
In March, Otto was convicted on numerous charges of lewd acts with a minor. He has been given a sentence of 9 years and 4 months in state prison, the San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office says.
Otto will have to serve at least 85% of the sentence due to the seriousness of the crimes. He will also have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
