Man's Tax Plan Gets Attention Of Lincoln City Leaders
LINCOLN (CBS13) -- A Lincoln man is proposing raising taxes to keep services running in his cash-strapped town.
Resident Thomas Augustine is pitching a revenue plan that would allow the city to tax its own utility service. He says it would generate $2.5 million -- money that could be used on emergency services.
His plan and those of other residents will be heard at an upcoming public planning workshop.
Augustine's proposal may not go far. In 2010, Lincoln residents overwhelmingly shot down a utility tax.
