Manny Ramirez Arrives At A's Camp
PHOENIX (AP) — Twelve-time All-Star Manny Ramirez arrived at the Oakland Athletics training facility Friday amid a curious group of reporters and players.
He is expected to speak privately with A's manager Bob Melvin and undergo a physical before addressing the media.
Ramirez signed a minor league deal with the A's on Monday worth $500,000. He will be allowed to participate in spring training games and the exhibition games scheduled in Japan, but will sit out Oakland's first 50 games because of his drug-related suspension.
Ramirez is 14th on baseball's all-time home run list with 555 and 18th on the all-time RBI list with 1,831.
