Man Wanted In Robbery Spree Arrested
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A suspect was hauled away in handcuffs Tuesday after a rash of robberies in south Sacramento.
Sheriff's deputies say the man allegedly held up a Quick Stop on Fruitridge Road and Mendicino Boulevard after midnight. He changed his clothes and went a few blocks down to 39th Street and 35th Avenue where he kicked in a door and stole a homeowner's car while holding the residents at gunpoint.
Deputies tracked down the car and were able to catch the suspect in the middle of McClatchy Park.
Investigators say the suspect is part of California's AB 109 program, designed to keep inmates from returning to prison.
