Man Stabbed To Death In Stockton's 70th Homicide Of Year
STOCKTON (CBS13) - An argument apparently led to Stockton's 70th murder early Saturday morning when police found a man dying from stab wounds.
Police say it happened near the intersection of Prado Way and Lan Ark Drive at 2:40 a.m. They found 39-year-old Joseph Tucker stabbed multiple times.
Tucker later died at the hospital.
Police later arrested 40-year-old Fred Bonner for murder. Bonner and the victim apparently knew each other and got into some kind of argument. Witnesses said Bonner stabbed Tucker inside an apartment and fled the area on foot. A homicide warrant was issued for Bonner.
At 12:30 p.m., members from the U.S. Marshal's Task Force and County Wide Gang Task Force took Bonner into custody in the area of Etna Street and San Carlos Way. Bonner was interviewed by homicide detectives and then booked into the San Joaquin County Jail without bail.
Stockton's 2012 homicides have already far exceeded its record, previously set just last year.
