Man Stabbed Multiple Times In Fight At Downtown Plaza Food Court

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Police are investigating a stabbing at the Downtown Plaza late Wednesday morning but say the stabber acted in self-defense after being attacked.

Police and paramedics were called to the food court just before 11:30 a.m. They found one person, 23, stabbed multiple times. He was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and will be booked for felony assault upon his release, Sgt. Andrew Pettit said. The man's name wasn't released.

According to police, he and another man, 18-year-old Abel Elizondo followed another 18-year-old into a food court bathroom and attacked him. The man being attacked pulled out a knife and stabbed the 23-year-old.

The incident was gang-related, police said.
