Man Shoots Into Hotel Following Fight, Turns Gun On Self
RANCHO CORDOVA (CBS13) - A SWAT standoff at a local hotel ended with the death of the suspect on Wednesday.
Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies say the gunman, identified Thursday as 34-year-old Patrick Michael Ewing, got into a fight with another guest, grabbed a gun and fired into his room through the window.
A family with a baby that was staying at the hotel was nearly hit.
The shooting happened at the Extended Stay in Rancho Cordova off Highway 50 and Zinfandel.
Ewing was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
