Man Seriously Hurt After Being Chased Into Traffic

MODESTO, Calif. (CBS13) – A man is fighting for his life after a group of subjects apparently chased him into traffic Tuesday afternoon.

The Modesto Police Department said a several suspects chased the victim out of the Central Valley Plaza shopping center onto Briggsmore Avenue near Prescott Road.

The victim was hit by a pickup truck, suffering life-threatening injuries, according to authorities. The suspects fled the scene and have not been apprehended.

One of the men was reportedly brandishing a baseball bat during the incident.

Police have not released the identity of the victim or speculated on why he was being chased.

The wounded man is reported to be in critical condition.
