Man Rushed To Hospital After Tractor Pull Accident At Fair

TURLOCK, Calif. (CBS13) -- A 51-year-old man was hospitalized Wednesday evening after becoming trapped by a 16-ton tractor sled at the Stanislaus County Fair.

The Turlock Fire Department said the victim was helping reposition the sled for a tractor pull at about 7:30 p.m. when he somehow became trapped underneath the 32,000-pound vehicle.

"His foot was hooked backwards," said witness Brian Desaire. "I've never seen anything like it. They say they've been doing it for 20 years and nothing like that."

The circumstances leading up to the accident have not yet been released.

A forklift helped free the injured man, who was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries, including a broken left ankle, lacerations to his back and shoulders and back pain.

The victim's identity has not been released.
