Man Pleads Not Guilty To Peeping Charges

FAIRFAX, Calif. (AP) -- A Marin County man accused of peeping under women's skirts with a camera attached to his shoe has pleaded not guilty.

Nicholas Charles Springer of San Rafael entered the plea on Friday to three misdemeanor counts of secretly videotaping under or through clothing.

Prosecutors say the charges stem from incidents in San Rafael and Fairfax.

The 26-year-old Springer was arrested on Wednesday night at the Fairfax Farmers Market after a witness reported a man using a shoe camera to take lewd pictures of women.

Cpl. Rhonda Tuscher says an officer who responded to the report saw Springer hold his foot underneath a woman's skirt for a few seconds before walking away.

Springer's attorney, Brendan Hickey, tells the Marin Independent Journal there is no reason to rush to judgment.
