Arrest made in connection to November deadly shooting in Stockton
STOCKTON – An arrest has been made in connection to a deadly November shooting that happened in Stockton, police said Thursday.
Kenneth Mejia, 22, was located by a U.S. Marshals Task Force in Stockton on Thursday, January 23 and taken into custody without incident, the Stockton Police Department said.
Mejia is suspected of shooting and killing Raymond Rodriguez, 46, on the evening of November 9 at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Aurora Street. Rodriguez was later declared dead at an area hospital.
Mejia has since been booked into the San Joaquin County jail and faces homicide-related charges, police said.
Details regarding the motive for the shooting were not released. Stockton police said the investigations remain ongoing.
