Man Killed In Head-On Crash In South Sacramento
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – One man was killed and two other wounded in a head-on crash in South Sacramento that left a major roadway closed.
The Sacramento Police Department said a man in his 60s was driving a green Acura southbound on Franklin Boulevard near Creeks Edge Way when a Mercedes heading the opposite direction attempted to turn left.
The two cars collided, fatally injuring the driver of the Acura. The occupants of the Mercedes, described as two men in their 20s, were rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said they have not yet determined who was at fault for the crash.
The investigation is expected to keep Franklin Boulevard closed near the scene of the accident for several hours. Southbound traffic was detoured at Parkway and northbound traffic was detoured at Brookfield Drive.
