Man Hit And Killed By Light Rail Train

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- An 18-year-old man is dead after he was hit by a light rail train in Sacramento late Monday night.

The train operator says the man suddenly appeared on the tracks near the Freeport Boulevard and 4th Avenue station.

The operator applied the brakes, but still hit the man going 55 miles per hour. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
