Man Fatally Shot In South Sacramento Identified

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A man shot and killed in south Sacramento on Wednesday night in front of his home has been identified.

The Sacramento County Coroner has identified the victim as Antonio Jordan, 41.

The shooting occurred at about 7 p.m. in the 8100 block of Ingleside Way near Fernside Drive.

After receiving numerous reports of shots fired, Sacramento County sheriff's deputies discovered a Hispanic male adult, 41, lying motionless in the driveway of a residence. He was on the ground outside of a vehicle, and sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

A woman waiting for relatives in her car across the street said she heard the shots, ran inside and then looked out the window and saw the victim lying in his driveway, according to sheriff's spokesman Deputy Jason Ramos. She called 911. She said she didn't see or hear a car leave the scene, she just heard the gunshots.

The victim's family tells CBS13's Ron Jones that he was a hard-working, blue-collar guy with no known enemies.

Deputies were canvassing the neighborhood in an attempt to gain any information about the shooting. No information regarding anybody leaving the scene after the shooting was available.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (916) 874-5115 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP.
