Man Fatally Shot During Oakland Chase
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- Oakland police have fatally shot a man who reportedly emerged from a vehicle armed with two guns following a 10-minute pursuit.
Police spokeswoman Holly Joshi says the chase ended when the vehicle crashed into another car in a city intersection Wednesday afternoon. She says the driver attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended.
Joshi says the passenger was armed and refused to surrender. He was shot and killed by police.
Police say the two men were suspects in a non-injury drive-by shooting in a residential neighborhood Wednesday. Officers spotted their vehicle shortly after the incident and a chase ensued.
Police have not identified the suspects. They have not said whether the armed man fired at police before he was killed.
