Man Dies After Yolo County Accident

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (CBS13) -- A man was killed Saturday evening in a solo vehicle accident in Yolo County, according to authorities.

Investigators said the male driver of an SUV was traveling down the 5000 block of South River Road in Yolo County at a high rate of speed when he lost control on a tight S-curve and slammed into the concrete wall of an old train trestle.

The driver suffered severe injuries at died at the scene of the crash, according to the West Sacramento Police Department. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

South River Road has been shut down pending the investigation of the crash. Authorities have not given an estimated time for the road's reopening.
