Teen Dies After North Highlands Stabbing
NORTH HIGHLANDS, Calif. (CBS13) -- One person was stabbed to death in North Highlands and another man was assaulted Sunday evening near an elementary school, according to authorities.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department says the fatal attack was reported near Ridgepoint Elementary School on Galbrath Drive just before 8:00 p.m. Sunday.
The 18-year-old victim suffered fatal injuries and fled across the street, where he collapsed. Emergency crews were unable to revive him and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputy Jason Ramos.
The suspect, another man about the same age, was wounded during the altercation and has been detained and treated for his wounds. The identity of both men have not been released.
The circumstances surrounding the incident have not been made available.
