Man Injures Leg On River Rope Swing
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A man was rescued from the American River on Wednesday afternoon after breaking his leg on a rope swing, authorities said.
The 29-year-old victim fell into the water near the Rossmoor Bar around 3:00 p.m. after the rope swing broke, severely injuring his leg and possibly breaking his femur, according to the Sacramento Metro Fire Department.
The victim was able to swim to shore on his own, but firefighters had to find a boat to reach the man, stabilize him and prepare him for transport to the hospital.
