Man Accused Of Trying To Lure Girls

GRASS VALLEY (CBS13) -- A 20-year-old man was arrested after detectives set up a sting to catch the suspect who allegedly contacted several young girls and solicited them for sex.

A concerned parent called the Grass Valley Police Department several weeks ago after discovering that her daughter received explicit photos from a man later identified as Samuel Luti, authorities said.

Over the next few weeks, detectives said they uncovered more alleged victims -- five in all -- who also received inappropriate text messages.

"This is a perfect example of someone who was seeking out young females and attempting to take advantage of them," said Grass Valley Police Captain Dave Remillard.

Investigators used one of the victims' cell phones to set up a sting at the Holiday Lodge. Police said Luti expected to meet a 15-year-old girl inside one of the rooms, but was instead taken into custody by authorities.

Detectives said Luti had visited one of the alleged victims in Washington, but the nature of his visit isn't known. Authorities are still looking for evidence that may connect Luti to other potential victims.
