Man Accused Of Assaulting, Threatening Wife

AUBURN, Calif. (CBS13) -- An Auburn resident has been arrested after allegedly threatening to kill his wife and daughter over a legal dispute, authorities said.

The Auburn Police Department said the wife of Tyler Monsen, 24, said he told her he would kill her and their 2-year-old daughter if she did not come to his home on April 5.

When she arrived, he held a box cutter to her neck and said he would kill her if she testified against him in court, the victim told investigators.

Monsen had been arrested on February 23 for another 3 charges stemming from other incidents against his wife, authorities said.

Police arrested Monsen on April 8 for 6 felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, spousal battery and false imprisonment.

The victim suffered a cut on her neck during the alleged incident but was not seriously wounded.
