Man, 23, Shot And Killed After Party In Rancho Cordova
RANCHO CORDOVA (CBS13) – Authorities are investigating after a man was shot to death at a party early New Year's morning.
The scene at a home along the 3200 block of Nosler Court. According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department, deputies showed up at the scene just before 2 a.m. after a report of a person shot and found a 23-year-old man lying on the ground outside.
Medics took the man to the hospital, but he was later pronounced dead.
"It's scary because it's next to home -- literally in my backyard. I'm not OK with it; it's very stupid, I feel sorry for the family," said a nearby resident. "I have children in my backyard. It could've went the wrong way."
Investigators believe a small party was going on at the home. At some point just as the party was breaking up, the man got involved in some sort of dispute and was shot.
No suspects have been identified by authorities.
