Magnitude-4.3 Quake Strikes Rural Northern California
SANTA ROSA, Calif. (AP) -- There are no reports of damage or injuries after a magnitude-4.3 earthquake rattled a rural area of Northern California.
The United States Geological Survey says the quake hit at 2:23 a.m. Saturday about 24 miles north of Santa Rosa in Sonoma County. Some residents reported feeling light shaking to the USGS.
A sheriff's dispatcher said there were no calls of damage or injuries.
The area where the earthquake hit is near the Geysers geothermal development, a complex of 22 geothermal power plants in the Mayacamas Mountains. The Geysers is the site of frequent seismic activity.
