Lodi Man Accused Of Directing Laser Beam At CHP Plane
LODI (CBS13) - A 52-year-old Lodi man was arrested and accused of directing a laser beam at a California Highway Patrol aircraft earlier this week.
Charles Brill was booked into the Lodi jail and then transferred to the San Joaquin County Jail after his arrest on Sunday.
A CHP plane was flying over Lodi at about 1:30 a.m. when the pilot and flight officer noticed a green laser light being pointed at their aircraft. The officers tracked the source of the laser beam to a residence in the 500 block of Forrest Ave.
Lodi Police responded and arrested Brill.
The CHP officers said the flight path for several commercial airlines goes directly over Lodi and there have been previous reports of similar incidences.
