Loaded Handgun Found In Stolen Car Loaded With Teens

STOCKTON (CBS13) -- During conduction of a traffic stop in Stockton on Thursday night, deputies determined the car full of juveniles was stolen and when searching it, they found a loaded pistol on the floor of the backseat.

San Joaquin County Sheriff's deputies pulled the car over at East Mistletoe Avenue and North E Street in Stockton at 11:35 p.m. The car contained six occupants, all male teenagers. They were ordered out, at which time deputies found a Walther PPK 380 pistol on the rear passenger floorboard.

The pistol was loaded with six rounds of Federal ammunition with one round in the chamber. The gun serial number had been shaved or scratched off and was not legible, according to the sheriff's department.

Two of the occupants were 15, one was 16 and two 17. They were taken into custody and booked into San Joaquin County Juvenile Hall on car theft and weapons charges.
