Kings Tune Out Jazz In 114-106 Victory

Coming off the heels of a winless three-game road trip, the Kings were definitely eager to get back to the friendly confines of Sacramento.  The Utah Jazz, on the other hand, were coming off an overtime win against Indiana, looking to get a game over .500 by stringing together two in a row.  Ultimately, it was the Kings who got themselves back on track with a 114-106 win.

Rudy Gay scored 23 points for Sacramento (8-15), who opened the game on a 12-2 run and made 11 of their first 16 shots from the field to open up an 11-point lead after one quarter.  After the hot start, Gay continued the early efficiency, missing just three of his thirteen field goal attempts for the game.  As a team, the Kings shot 56% (43-of-77) overall.

DeMarcus Cousins was also highly efficient with 23 points and 12 rebounds on 8-of-14 from the field after shooting 24.5% (13-of-53) on the three-game losing streak.  He fouled out in the waning moments of the game, after the contest was well in hand.

Omri Casspi delivered a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds in 41 minutes.  The Kings continue their homestand on Thursday against the Knicks.
