Kings Got 99 Problems But The Nets Ain't One
The Sacramento Kings recovered from a six-point halftime deficit to earn their second win in a row, cutting down the Brooklyn Nets 111-109 in Sacramento on Friday night.
With Rudy Gay sidelined due to a bout with gastroenteritis, DeMarcus Cousins scored 21 of his 40 points in the third quarter to spark a surge that led the Kings to a three-point advantage heading into the final frame. Cousins also chipped in 13 rebounds, but fell short of matching his career-high 41 points when he fouled out with less than a minute left to play.
Rajon Rondo, playing 44 minutes after going two games in a row without a rest, registered his third triple-double of the week and 25th of his career with 23 points, 14 assists, and 10 rebounds. Ben McLemore had a season-high 15 points off the bench, connecting on 3-of-4 from beyond the arc.
A Joe Johnson 3-pointer got Brooklyn within two at 109-107 with 21.6 seconds left, but two free throws from Ben McLemore iced the win for Sacramento.
Darren Collison sat out once again with a sore hamstring for Sacramento (3-7), who host Toronto on Sunday.
