Kings fall to Raptors 131-128 in OT on second night of back-to-back
TORONTO – The Sacramento Kings fall short to the Toronto Raptors 131-128 in overtime on the second night of a back-to-back.
The Raptors led much of the night, thanks to making 17 3-pointers and shooting nearly 46% from downtown.
The Kings were able to outscore the Raptors 34-24 in the fourth quarter. Domantas Sabonis grabbed an offensive rebound and put it back up and in with two seconds left to help send it to overtime.
But in overtime, the Raptors outscored the Kings 11-8. They missed key free throws in the final seconds, but the Kings weren't able to tie the game again. They missed two 3-pointers in the final 10 seconds of overtime.
Sabonis collected a triple-double, scoring 17 points, grabbing 20 rebounds and dishing 10 assists.
DeMar DeRozan helped fuel the run in the fourth. He ended up scoring 33 points against his former team.
De'Aaron Fox scored 24 points with 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Malik Monk added 21 points off the bench with 4 assists.
RJ Barrett led all scorers with 31 for the Raptors. Former King Davion Mitchell scored 4 points while dishing 6 assists and grabbing 9 rebounds against his former team.
Ochai Agbaji and Chris Boucher each made 4 3-pointers a piece. Anbaji scored 22 points while Boucher scored 24 points off the bench.
The Raptors retired Vince Carter's number Saturday night. The Hall of Famer played seven seasons in Toronto and made a stop for a season in Sacramento.
The Kings head to Miami where they will take on the Heat Monday night in the final stop of the current road trip. They fall to 3-3 after Saturday night's loss.
