Kings Drop Fourth Straight, Fall To Warriors 115-113
By: Morgan Ragan
The Warriors nailed 15 of 25 three-pointers in a 115-113 win over the Sacramento Kings on Sunday afternoon at Sleep Train Arena.
Golden State's starting backcourt of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson combined for 64 points. Curry had 36 points and 10 assists while Thompson added 28 including a career-high eight three-pointers in 41 minutes.
Sacramento stayed in the game despite 24 turnovers with 16 of those in the first half. Isaiah Thomas had a team-high seven turnovers in his 34 minutes.
Head coach Michael Malone said those mistakes hurt his team.
"We want to make them work for everything. We can't give them anything and we gave them way too many easy baskets off of our turnovers," Malone said during the postgame press conference.
The Kings shot a season-high 52.6 percent from the field and had 22 assists.
DeMarcus Cousins played only 20 minutes due to foul trouble but led the team with 24 points including two game-tying baskets in the final minute on Warriors center Andrew Bogut.
"He delivered and I think that's part of his maturity as well as becoming a go-to-guy," Malone said.
The Kings will take on the 12-3 Oklahoma City Thunder Tuesday night at home.
