Kings Begin Future Under New Ownership With Preseason Loss To Warriors
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The Sacramento Kings' new era kicked off its preseason with a 94-81 loss to the Golden State Warriors.
The Kings were loose and relaxed playing against new owner Vivek Ranadive's former team. But once the ball went up, the team was all business.
"I know for a fact the guys are tired of playing against themselves," said head coach Michael Malone.
Malone shrugged off his return to Oracle Arena, where he spent a few years as a Warriors assistant coach.
"Just another day man. We've been away from home for over a week," he said. "This is just another opportunity for the Sacramento Kings to get better."
The motto of the team this year was echoed by Malone and General Manager Pete D'Alessandro: "We're gonna get better every day."
They're preaching patience for a team that is finally heading in the right direction.
"It's a 2 to 3 year process we have a good start but it's a process," Ranadive said.
