5 Charged In Killing At Southern California Roller Rink
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) — Five people, including a 15-year-old boy, have been charged with murder after a New Year's Day shooting that killed a security guard at a Southern California roller rink.
Forty-eight-year-old Richard Williamson was shot around 2 a.m. Thursday.
Authorities say he was trying to protect people from a gunman who fired at a crowd outside the rink in the San Bernardino County city of Grand Terrace. Two other people were wounded.
The attack occurred as hundreds of people were celebrating the New Year at an all-night skate party.
On Monday, prosecutors filed murder, attempted murder and other charges with gang enhancements against five people ranging in age from 15 to 20.
The five, including three minors, face trial as adults and are scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
