Kids Confront Armed Home Invaders
NORTH HIGHLANDS, Calif. (CBS13) – Family members were shaken by the news that four children confronted armed burglars during a home invasion Wednesday afternoon.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department said two suspects, at least one of whom had a gun, kicked in a door on the 3700 block of Bolivar Way around 1:00 p.m. Wednesday.
Four kids, ages 7 to 12, heard the men ransacking the home and confronted them inside a bedroom, according to Deputy Jason Ramos. One of the young girls even struck the gunman.
No adults were home at the time of the incident.
The mother of the children was overcome with emotion and did not want to be interviewed.
Neighbor Tanesha Henderson said the kids ran to her home after the suspects fled, and she called authorities. The suspects escaped before deputies arrived and have not been located.
