Kids Approached By Strangers In Roseville

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) -- Parents are wary after hearing that several kids reported being approached by strangers after school this week.

The Roseville Police Department said three separate reports came in from students walking home from Junction Elementary and another report was made from a student attending Thomas Jefferson Elementary in north Roseville.

All of the reports are being treated as credible and police officers say the sudden cluster of reports is especially alarming.

In all of the incidents, the students, ages 9 to 11, said strangers approached them in the late afternoon and evening hours and asked if they wanted a ride home. All of the students ran away.

Parents volunteered to patrol the perimeter and nearby blocks surrounding Junction Elementary on Friday afternoon, keeping a sharp eye out for any suspicious activity.

Police have also stepped up patrols near Roseville schools and said they are seeking leads on whoever might be responsible.
