Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Speaking At Education Strategy Event In Sacramento
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Pro basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is in the capital city today.
The NBA great is here to address more than 2,000 teachers at the Sacramento Convention Center. The name of the event is a Teach-In. It helps teachers with strategies to educate our state's students.
"Well, for me it's important. I've always understood that our kids are our future. For our nation and community to have a good future, we have to do a good job in educating them," said Abdul-Jabbar.
During his visit, Abdul-Jabbar will also meet students and teachers.
