UPDATE: Juvenile Offender Who Fled Hospital Returned To Custody
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A juvenile offender who escaped from a Sacramento psychiatric hospital on Wednesday night is back in state custody.
Joshua Govea, 15, was taken into custody without incident by California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation agents at about 2 a.m. in Sacramento County and was returned to the N.A. Chaderjian Youth Correctional Facility in Stockton.
Govea escaped from Sierra Vista Hospital on Bruceville Road on Wednesday evening. Sierra Vista is a private psychiatric hospital.
Govea reportedly struggled with staff and was able to grab a set of keys. He then pushed his way past nurses and escaped wearing only a gray hospital gown.
Govea is described as an Hispanic male with brown hair and eyes, weighing about 160 pounds, with a distinctive scar on his left shoulder.
Govea is from Kings County in the Central Valley. He was convicted of first-degree burglary. He will be charged with escape.
