Joe Thornton Hears From Multiple Teams Prior To July 1 Free Agency

Unless they re-sign the pending-unrestricted free agent Joe Thornton by July 1, the San Jose Sharks' center will receive the opportunity to start interviewing with other teams the following day.
TSN's Pierre LeBrun tweeted Monday afternoon that Thornton has heard from a dozen interested teams.
Teammate Patrick Marleau will also become a free-agent on Sunday if no resigning deal is made. Both have been captains of the San Jose Sharks for at least four seasons.
