Job Postings Up In Sacramento Area

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Newly released numbers indicate that many businesses are hiring more workers than last year.

Central Valley businesses posted more than 28,000 job notices online in November, a 30 percent jump when compared to November 2009.

The Conference Board's monthly online jobs report says California job postings increased by more than 110,000 compared to last year, a 29 percent jump, and the entire nation has seen an increase of 30.8 percent.

The overall economic picture is still grim, with California's unemployment rate well into the double digits and industries such as construction, finance and office administration still suffering, but the news may be a glimmer of hope.

The demand for health care workers saw the study's biggest increase after dropping for three months in a row.
