Jackson Rancheria Casino Raises Gaming Age From 18 To 21

JACKSON, Calif. (CBS13) – Gamers under the age of 21 will soon no longer be able to gamble at Jackson Rancheria.

Rancheria officials have elected to change the minimum gambling age from 18 to 21 after getting requests from casino guests as well as recommendations from consultants.

"We want our guests to enjoy their gaming, dining and entertainment experiences as much as possible," said Rich Hoffman, CEO of Jackson Rancheria. "This new direction will establish a more mature setting that is similar to almost every other casino. Being responsive to our guests has always been our top priority, so when we learned about the desire to update our minimum gaming age, it made sense to do so now in conjunction with the other changes happening on property."

The change goes into effect on September 15 and comes as the remodel of the Rancheria's casino and hotel near completion. However, the casino will not be changing its alcohol policy. The Rancheria has never served or allowed alcohol on its premises.
