Images Of Modesto Murder Suspects Released
MODESTO, Calif. (CBS13) -- Investigators have released several surveillance video images of three subjects who may be connected to a shooting death last week.
The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department is attempting to identify the men who drove a vehicle to a Modesto market shortly before a man was found dead Friday afternoon inside his home on Paradise Road.
Surveillance video shows two men wearing dark hooded sweatshirts exiting a light colored sedan with a dark colored hood, possibly a 1986 Toyota Celica. The driver remained in the vehicle while the other two men walked in the direction of the victim's home at about 10:58 a.m.
The driver eventually left without waiting for the other two men to return.
Gregory Bettencourt, 51, was found dead at about 1:50 p.m. by his fiancé. A legal marijuana growing operation was found on the victim's property, and authorities are investigating whether that played a factor in the murder.
No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made.
Anyone with information on the murder or the subjects seen in the surveillance images are asked to contact Detective Darwin Hatfield at (209) 525-7100 or Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636.
