EB I-80 In Sierra Back Open After Big Rig Crashes Down Embankment
KINGVALE (CBS13) — Caltrans needed to temporarily close traffic on eastbound Interstate 80 in the Sierra so crews could lift a semi-truck that crashed down an embankment.
The crash happened early Tuesday morning in between Cisco and Kingvale.
Exactly what led up to the crash is unclear, but a big rig hauling a trailer ended up off the side of the freeway.
It's unclear if there were any injuries.
A temporary closure of eastbound I-80 went into effect around 10 a.m. so that crews could pull the big rig out. The freeway was back open until a little before noon.
