I-5 In Sacramento Backed Up After Multiple-Vehicle Accident
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Motorists driving through Sacramento heading north on Interstate 5 were delayed after a multiple-vehicle accident involving a big rig Wednesday morning.
The right lanes were blocked on northbound I-5 just south of Garden Highway after the crash involving eight to 10 vehicles, which happened shortly before 10:30 a.m., according to the CHP incident website. All lanes were reopened by 11:15.
One car sustained extensive rear-end damage but the others appeared to be operational, according to the CHP.
Debris in the roadway reportedly caused vehicles to swerve and started the chain-reaction crash.
No one was seriously hurt in the accident.
