How The Kings Have Done On 'Leap Day'

Leap Year comes every four years so it had me wondering how the Sacramento Kings have performed on "Leap Day."

Sacramento has played six times on "Leap Day" and has a record of 3-3.

Here's the rundown:

Feb 29, 1988-Utah-115 Sacramento-110-Two future Hall of Famers had amazing nights in the Kings loss to the Utah Jazz at ARCO Arena. "The Mailman" Karl Malone had 41 points and 15 rebounds and John Stockton dropped 19 assists. Reggie Theus led the way for the Kings with 22 points and Otis Thorpe had 18 rebounds

Feb 29, 1992-Kings-115 Sonics-110-Three Kings scored 20 or more points including Mitch Richmond-26, Lionel Simmons-27 and Spud Webb had 24.

Feb 29, 1996-The Clippers beat the Kings 122-110 in LA. Mitch Richmond had 29 points and big man Brian Grant added 28 points in the losing effort. Clippers guard Terry Dehere crushed had six three-pointers off the bench. He finished with 19 points.

Feb 29, 2000-The Kings dominated the Vancouver Grizzlies 112-98-Webber had 29 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Two former Kings played on the Grizzlies that night. Mike Bibby had 17 points and 12 assists and Shareef Abdur-Rahim had 19 points, 9 rebounds and five assists for Vancouver.

Feb 29, 2004-Kings beat the Suns 108-94-Chris Webber did not play but the Kings got plenty of help from shooting guard Doug Christie who had 28 points, 9 assists, 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Peja added 32 points in the win.

Feb 29,2008-Lost in Dallas 115-106-Former Kings guard Reggie Theus coached the Kings for this Leap Day game. Dirk had 34 points and 10 rebounds. Three Kings scored 20 or more including Ron Artest-22, Beno Udrih-25 and Kevin Martin-25

Feb 29, 2012-Did not play
