Homicide Suspect In Stockton Store Shooting Arrested In Mexico
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS13) – The suspect wanted in the deadly shooting of a Stockton store owner was arrested in Mexico and extradited back to the U.S. on Wednesday.
Richard Alcaraz, 22, was positively identified by U. S. Customs and Border Protection officers at San Francisco International Airport upon arriving from Mexico.
Last November, the then-21-year-old Alcaraz and a second suspect entered Paisano's Market at 2460 E. Main Street and one of them opened fire, killing store owner Majad Ali Awnallah. Stockton police say Alcaraz and the other suspect had stolen two cases of beer from the market only a half hour prior to the shooting.
Mexican Police turned Alcaraz over to the U.S. Marshals Service for further processing.
