Homeless Person Stops Armed Robbery In Stockton With Fire Extinguisher
STOCKTON (CBS13) - A homeless person stopped an armed robbery in progress in Stockton, say police.
Around 8:40 p.m. Monday, a man walked into a business in the 3300 block of W. Hammer Lane, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money. But before the clerk had a chance to hand over the cash, a person described by police as a transient sprayed the suspect with a fire extinguisher, according to a Stockton Police Department statement.
The suspect abandoned his plans and ran from the store. He reportedly got into a waiting small, red Toyota sedan and drove away.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s with long hair. He as last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
Police are not releasing the name of the transient.
