Home Invasion Robbery In Citrus Heights Leads To Police Chase, Arrests
CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) - A home invasion robbery tied to an alleged marijuana growing operation led to a police pursuit Tuesday morning, say authorities.
Around 2 a.m. Tuesday five suspects reportedly went to a home in the 1300 block of Fair Oaks Boulevard, near Sundance Drive, and fired two shots, assaulted a resident and demanded money and drugs, according to a Citrus Heights Police.
A neighbor called 911 after hearing yelling coming from the home. The neighbor said someone was telling the residents to get on the floor.
The suspects fled, leading police on a two-mile pursuit.
Officers caught up with the car in a parking lot at Greenback Lane and Fair Oaks Boulevard, but the suspects ran. One of the suspects, a juvenile, was caught by a police K9. That suspect is being treated at the hospital for a bite to his leg.
All five suspects, including two juveniles and three adults, were arrested on charges of robbery, resisting arrest and eluding police.
Police found a bb gun inside of the getaway car. A barrel containing marijuana was found in the getaway car as well.
