Hiker Missing After Trip To Emigrant Wilderness
TUOLUMNE COUNTY (CBS13) -- A Ukiah man has been reported missing after go hiking last Saturday in the Sierra wilderness and not returning home.
Craig Greenlee, 44, went to the Emigrant Wilderness in the Stanislaus National Forest on Saturday and was scheduled to return Thursday night but didn't. His father, Dale Greenlee, also of Ukiah, reported him missing to the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office
at about 10 p.m. Thursday night.
Tuolomne County sheriff's deputies found Craig Greenlee's car at Crabtree Trailhead but didn't find him. A ground search and CHP helicopter began searching for Greenlee on Friday morning.
As of midnight, there was 8 inches of new snow on the ground in the area, according to the sheriff's office.
The Emigrant Wilderness is located on the upper western slope of the central Sierra Nevada Mountain Range and encompasses 112,277 acres.
