Heat Continues With Chance Of Thunderstorms
Thunderstorms fired off in the Sierra Sunday afternoon while the valley sweated through near 100 degree temperatures.
More heat is on the way for the valley as we start the week off with a high of 99 expected for Sacramento.
A low pressure system off the coast will also keep storm chances in the forecast through late Wednesday.
The best shot for rain and thunder will be in and along the Sierra. The stronger storms could bring minor flooding to the high country. New fire starts are also possible with dry storms that only produce lightning.
There is a slight chance some of the mountain storms could drift into valley locations.
By the end of the week, storm chances will diminish and cooler air will start to move into the valley.
Sacramento can expect temperatures to fall back to normal levels by Thursday, with a high of 91 degrees.
