Halloween Weather To Be A Treat
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- Nothing in the weather will stand in the way of a huge candy haul for trick-or-treaters, but a new system could bring in rain, wind and snow to Northern California later on this week.
Forecasts for Halloween call for mild, calm conditions with temperatures reaching the upper 70s in most parts of the Sacramento Valley by Monday afternoon. Halloween wanderers who stay out late may feel a sudden chill when temperatures drop into the 60s by 6 p.m., but relatively calm winds shouldn't make it miserable.
A low pressure system coming in from the Pacific isn't expected to arrive until late Tuesday, but it could bring wind gusts as strong as 50 MPH to the upper elevations of the Sierra and 30 MPH gusts to parts of the valley floor.
Temperatures will fall fast as the week goes on, with highs only expected to hit the mid 60s on Wednesday and only the 50s for Thursday. Forecasts suggest that the Sierra could see rain showers and snow on Wednesday and Thursday.
